Book folding is the process of carefully folding the pages of a real book to create a three-dimensional word, name, number, or design. Each Found & Folded piece is measured, marked, and folded by hand, one page at a time.
No. Found & Folded pieces are made from rescued books that have been given a second life. Because each book is unique, the cover, color, size, and overall appearance of your finished piece will vary.
The book is transformed into a piece of art, so it is no longer intended to be read in its finished form. The pages remain intact. They are simply folded with intention to create your design.
Not exactly, and that's part of the beauty of it. The folded design will reflect what you ordered, but the book itself will be unique to your piece. Cover, color, size, page color, and other details will vary depending on the rescued book selected for your order.
Standard orders can include words, names, initials, dates, numbers, and other character-based designs that fit within the available character limits. If you have an idea that falls outside the standard options, reach out about a custom order.
Yes. If there’s a particular book you’d like me to use, you’re welcome to send me your copy, or I can source it for you. If I purchase the book, the cost of the book will be added to your order.

Found & Folded orders are placed through Etsy. Click Place an Order on the website to visit the Found & Folded Etsy shop, choose the option that fits your design, and enter your requested design.
Found & Folded uses a monthly preorder window. Preorders open on the first Sunday of each month and close on the third Sunday of each month. Each monthly preorder window is intentionally limited.
Production begins after the preorder window closes. Because every piece is handmade, your order will be produced during that month's production window. Orders will ship by the last business day of the month.
Yes. U.S. shipping is included in the listed price.
Absolutely. Enter the recipient's shipping information when placing your order. If you'd like your order to be sent as a gift, include that information with your order so I know how you'd like it handled. Your recipient will not receive a traditional packing slip showing the purchase price.
